    Parents Who Lie- Vent

So I have to deal with this mom in nursery. This woman can do no wrong. Ever. First, 2.5 yo on binky. His teeth are already coming in crooked and mom thinks he needs the binku so much so thst when HE decided he wanted to get rid of them, she bought more a day he was being whiny bc he was sick. 😮. So annoying but what can we do?

Last week, mom brought what looked like a sick kid. Supervising lead teacher tells me that the kid was a no call no show that Wed. Weird and rude!

Grandma drops off and says that the kid was DX with influenza the night before his last day of care before the no call....so I questioned her (I am pregnant and have kids myself so kinda need to know my exposure period) gma then says he was DX hours after leaving....and acts annoyed. Gma is a big snob. I don't like her. At.all.

So mom comes in and tells me gma doesn't know anything and that her kid was dx a different day

Idk why she needed to lie or why gma was so rude! They also never believe the child gets sick. He "teeths" year round. Diarrhea, fever, sniffles, coughs....all teething.😏. The child is also clingy. They are people who CAN'T SEEM TO GO when it's time to drop off. They hang around stressing the kid out so much more than if they just drop off already. They are clueless!

I literally want to just cut this mom out but not my choice.

Oh and I forgot...they pick up late all the time and usually bc they're socializing. I can see them out the daycare Window! So annoying.

It's got to be terribly hard when you have no say when it comes to keeping clients or not. You have to pretty much put up with everything.
I hope you're very kind to yourself when you leave the place behind for the day. Sounds like you could also use a place to vent(this place is great!!) but also IRL where they can support you that way too.
Otherwise, keep smiling and tell yourself 'this too shall pass'. Take good care of yourself for your little one that's on the way!!

I completely understand. I worked in a center for many years and owned one also before coming to home daycare. When you have parents like this, who step on your last nerve, just focus on their little one. It's not his fault that they're so wishy washy. Provide the best environment that you can for him and just roll your eyes at them when they're not looking.

And having a place like this to vent your frustrations will always help.
