Weaning a Cleft Lip/Cleft Pallette Baby

Have any of you had experience with a cleft lip/cleft paette baby? The parents have decided to go "cold turkey" on the bottle, and in their mind that means not giving the baby any liquids, only baby food. 1) I will not participate in not giving an infant liquids, that is not OK. A child needs liquids to avoid dehydration. 2) they brought me a cup that she can not drink from. Cleft babies don't know how to ****, so she can't use a cup that needs suction to work.

I am frustrated today over this situation, and am not quite sure what to do.

I have no experience with this particular issue, but no way would I keep a baby in care and not give them fluids. How old is she? Imo, they need to work on weaning at home and when she can successfully drink from a cup, then they can send that cup to daycare. Until then, I would continue my normal routine with her. That just seems crazy to me.

I would have them pick up immediately. And let them know they need to bring a bottle until she is weaned off. They need to work at it at home first. Ahhhhh parents annoy me so bad
