Wow!! Those bills are terrible! Can you go in and talk face to face with someone? I hate that our local store is only there to sell the phones/pkgs. We either have to call them or do it all online.
We have the family, 3 smartphones, 1 stupid one(that'd be me Haha). I pay 235 a month and that includes insurance on all of them. I think we upped our data to 8gb(does that sound right?) because one of my dds was going over the allowed amount quite often. But never did it amount to that much more!! It would be maybe an extra 10 bucks.

I have Consumer Cellular which is AT&T but half the price. No contract, you can manage and change your plan for free throughout the month and I switched and use the same number and phone that I had with AT&T for free.

i have Verizon and pay $90 for one smartphone and plan (I am financing my new phone through them, which I think adds about $25 a month to my bill). That's crazy you were charged so much for data overages! I have the minimum data plan (usually I'm using my phone on wifi), but I receive a text from Verizon if I be used 75% of my data in a billing cycle (text also shows the date the cycle ends), and another text when I've used 90% and then again when I've used 95%. I rarely even get close to using those amounts, but I like that they notify me, and gives me the option to increase my data plan (I just monitor my usage more carefully when I get them, the few times I've gotten them it's been a couple days before the billing cycle ends). I don't remember signing up for these notifications, but you might want to check with Verizon (or your new carrier if you switch) to see if you can sign up to get them!

We have T-Mobile. Unlimited talk, text and data. $110 per month for 4 of us. Our other daughter will come back from Ohio in three months. It will be $10 extra to add her. We've been with them for 14 years now. We keep this plan due to the fact than new lines are now $20 a month extra. We are on a plan that grandfathers us at $10.

Same here! I can add up to 4 devices or lines for $10 each.

We have AT&T (for over 20 years now). We have 5 lines, 4 smart phones. 2 of those have the old unlimited data, but DH & I have 300MB plans that cost $15 per month. If we were to go over our data it just adds another 300MB for $15. They also send text alerts if you're getting close to your data limit for the month so you can shut if off if you want to. Unlimited texting. Idk how many minutes, but they have the rollover thing and we have like 6,000 of those so we must not ever use all we pay for. The total bill is $212.

I've always had great customer service from them. I'll never forget the month (years ago) when our cell phone bill arrived in a box - my newly texting DS sent that many texts :: - and they backdated us for the unlimited texting plan which saved us from that rather huge bill
