Help writing a letter

I need help in writing a letter to my families for closing a day for a funeral. My husbands aunt passed away, does anyone have any good wording for something like this? one difficult thing is all we know is "next week" some time as the family is waiting for her ashes so I can't give a definite day in the letter. None of my families will have a problem with this but I just want to do it professionally, just not good with wording.

We recently had a death in the family and we will have to close one day next week( date unknown) As soon as we know which day it will be we will pass that information on to you. Thank you for understanding. I am sorry about the inconvenience, but this is all I know right now.

We had some unfortunate news of a death in the family. The funeral is next week and I will need to take a day off so that my family can attend. I wanted to give you some notice so you can find alternate care. Unfortunately at this time I do not have the exact day that the funeral will take place so I am asking for your patience in this matter. You will know as soon as I know.
