New family is supposed to start

on Easter Monday. I am closed with pay. I didn't realize when she brought her paperwork in and I don't think she did, either.

I plan to email her and let her know but am wondering if I should:
    • ask if she wants to start the week before? If so, then she has 2 paid holidays.
    • Keep her start date the same? I still plan to charge for the holiday if she does.
    • Postpone start for a week?

Maybe just give her the option of the 3 above?

She had wanted to start her a few weeks early before returning to work, to get them both settled into routine.

If you honestly don't have a preference, I'd offer her all 3 solutions and see what she thinks. JMO

That's what I'm going to do. Honestly, I am overthinking everything lately. Could have something to do with cutting back on coffee. :: Brain fog!! We need an emoji for that.

If a child is starting on a holiday I usually don't charge for that particular holiday. It is better to lose the income on that one day than to lose a full week by starting her next week I think. I charge for all subsequent holidays but not that first one that fall on their first week in care....which is usually a Monday!

I used to do the same but I charge a weekly rate now.

I don't and won't pro-rate anything so it would be the parent's choice as to what week they want to actually start attending.

However, I also don't hold spaces so if the family decided to start a week later, I'd basically be "holding" that week for free for them and I don't do that so....

Well, duh. Of course. I knew I shouldn't give up that second cup.

I had to re read this several times before I understood this sentence :: I might be the one needing a second or third cup today
