I don't know of any state that is as stringent as Tennessee is with the QRIS assessment. Like I have said before, it is in the law and you can't be licensed without it. The provider's balance is hanging in the eye of the assessor and will define you for a year! When it began, QRIS had a way of ****ing you in thinking it was a good thing, but it is not and it run many good providers out! I would so love to be able to opt out but not happening here!

Well, I guess if you can apply the European Centre for Information Policy and Security info to the thread topic then either answer would be correct.

Ok, so that caught my attention. So I completed it and then found out that the $500 is to be used towards the daycare specifically. Which is fine, but I don't know if I need $500 worth of anything for my daycare. Anyhoo, you fill out the rating system and then they critique it and give you tips on how to increase it. I get a call today and it's a woman from the Great Start saying she wants to come over to go over the paperwork with me. Great. I typically have 6 kids, 5 days a week. I would prefer to do this over the phone when the kids are sleeping. I have nothing to hide, but hate to have her nosing around my house does that makes sense? Has anyone been through this process? Thanks!
Hmm! I got my $500 last August when they did the offer last year. I do not recall being told I had to spend it on DC related things. I spent it on a new mattress. That is business related right?

How long did it take you to get your $500? She's coming over Monday for our meeting. I need a new laptop too, If they insist on daycare related I could use it on that. I do not need more toys. I downsized my house and actually have toys in boxes because I don't have room.

I submitted on the first day of the contest in August and had the check in my hands in less than 3 weeks. I had meet with the QRIS woman in May and worked on my stuff all summer then she called told me that that a contest was starting, to submit whatever I had. I got 3 stars and my daycare is now the 2nd one on the great start to quality list for my zip code.

In my state they come 4 times per year. Support is offered like Black Cat described. We put in an order from a list of approved school supply companies. They come during nap and also when gets are awake

I like to replace or get new outdoor equipment, storytelling kits, something expensive like those large children's classroom rugs, etc
