    Crazy

So I have a family whose hours are 10:30-5:30. They live up the street and are constantly showing up late and picking up late. The child, on separate occasions, has been napping at home and hasn't shown up to daycare at all. what should I do?

If I wanted to be done (and I probably would as I can't abide by late pick ups)
I would just say that as of x date I would no longer provide care. Wish them all the best, blah, blah, blah.

I would require a text to say they are going to be late. I would let them know that after a certain time (like right before nap) the child will no longer be accepted into daycare for that day (or any time that you see fit). I would charge late fees every time they were late and tell them that a 3rd late day results in immediate termination as per my contract.

I will have to tell my families that they will need to keep them elsewhere after a certain time. Today, he was supposed to be here at 10:30 and showed up at 1:10. Ggggrrrr!!!

I have a time in my handbook where no pick ups or drop offs are allowed. Mine is 12:20 - 3:30. We don't lay down until 1 when I have nappers, but I have found that coming in right at nap time doesn't work well either.

I would not accept the kid. It would throw off my nap time routine.

Oh no thats terrible. A- I would definitely charge latw fees and term if it became excessive. Also I don't accept kids after 1030am unless prior notice for appt etc. Then they interfere with nap and lunch and that's a nono. Make an adendum to your handbook or term if you feel like it won't change. Best of luck.

I have it in my policies no drop-offs or pick-ups between 11am-2pm unless it's a medical issue or you are nursing your child (lunch feeding). It's lunch & nap time & with 4 littles under 18 months it gets crazy enough here without an unknown thrown in.

I would also be charging late pick up fees. As to drop off? I have everyone on contract with set times... you don't call or text that you will be late within 30 min of contracted time, I consider you absent & it's your responsibility to arrange other care. I don't have time for nonsense & people who want to run the show
