Updating Contract - Holidays?

What holidays are you closed? Right now I'm closed:

• New Year’s Day
• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Thanksgiving Friday
• Christmas Eve
• Christmas Day

I am going to add Good Friday and I would also like to be closed 1/2 day on New Year's Eve and 1/2 day on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, but I didn't know if that was too much. I hardly ever close, so I feel like the parents would be ok with it, but I wanted to see what y'all thought.

I have all of the above bulleted days (paid) plus President's Day, Good Friday and 12:00 closing on NYE.
I take an average of an additional 2 weeks (unpaid) vacation and a handful of personal days above that.
I'm a big believer in taking whatever time you need. If parent's complain, then you know who to replace first.

... I do the Wed before Thanksgiving on alternate years (every other year I take the full week off & I shorten Christmas vacation); and yep, I'm closed on NYE alternating years unless NY falls on a weekend then I take the government closing

Don't forget Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Years Eve & New Years Day are all on the weekend this year! I am observing those Fri/Monday.

I have those days off plus my birthday and anniversary. Those are the paid days off. My winter & summer breaks are unpaid- usually about 10 days total. I also have 3-4 unpaid days scattered throughout the year where I'm closed to go to a show or something like that.

I think you'll have no issues with what you want to add. I have those days off plus my birthday and anniversary. Those are the paid days off. New Years Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day and Friday after
Christmas eve close at 1pm
Christmas
New Years Eve close at 1pm

I have 5 paid personal days but I only used 1 last year.

I have 1 week vacation paid, and 1 week unpaid.

However, I also just started my daycare 11 months ago. I feel like that's not enough because I don't use my personal days unless absolute emergency. My pwn fault. We'll see how this year goes. You might have a parent who doesn't like it. But they can either leave or **** it up. Chances are if they really like you, they'll stay.

Yes, I have never "observed" a holiday but there was no way I was missing out on 4 days paid holidays this year!!
