I have a 4.5 yr old dcb who has been working on potty training for the last year. He wears pull ups here- it's my requirement (until 2 weeks accident free) and the parents have never challenged it.
Body control with peeing is perfect, his obstacle is pooping. He just won't do it on the potty. He holds it in as long as he can (at home too from I'm told). On average, he poops in his pull up twice a month here and I'm told he does it at home too.
I've suggested there might be a medical reason. But, as far as I'm aware, they've never had him examined.
He has a twin dcg who has been potty trained without issue for the last year.
So, here's my dilemma:
Today, twin sister shouts out "dcb is wearing underwear today" about 10 minutes after they were dropped off.
Sure enough he is and mom never mentioned at drop off. Yesterday he had pull ups on.
I asked if mom knew, and they both told me "yes".
15 minutes later I smell something funky and none of my younger kids have dirty diapers and dcb has skid marks in his underwear but swears he doesn't have to go (which he never HAS told me when he pooped his pull ups anyway).
So, here I sit.
It's been about two weeks since he pooped his pull up here and I understand wanting him to be fully potty trained, because he should be; he'll be 5 in May and going to kinder in the fall.
But, I'm rather irked that the parents didn't warn me.
I could give him a chance, maybe he will use the toilet (although the presence of skid marks already has me nervous).
Or, I could change him into a pull up (btw, I don't have any back up underwear for him, only his sister).
Either way, how would you address it to the parents?
Would you mention the skid marks and the fact that they didn't give you a heads up?
