Every day, I make dinner instead of afternoon snack for the DCK'S. I serve it at 4 when the SA kiddos get off the bus. Most every day I get it ready for the crockpot when I do breakfast. Today was supposed to be scalloped potatoes and ham. So I peel and slice potatoes go get in the fridge for the ham, and there isn't any. I know now why DH asked me last night if I had enough ham! Apparently the other day he took the last bag in the semi with him for sandwiches. Now why he couldn't just SAY that, I have no idea. Anyway I cooked up some bacon to put in the potatoes, but of course it won't be as much meat.
So my question is should I cook up something else meat wise tonight to go with this? Or should I just serve the veggies and such I would normally do since all these kids do actually eat another dinner at home. My "dinner" just buys my parents time to get something made, and I can claim the higher tax deduction on it.
