    I Pulled a Dumb One

I went to WM, which is not where I like to shop, because well I am a WM hater. But I went and got my cat litter and was near electronics and had the great idea I was going to get one of those motion sensor light switches for the bathroom, because if I have to send a kid back to shut the light off one more time I might loose it! Called DH, he says no issue he will be happy to install it when he gets home tonight. I was thrilled because I am going with him tomorrow on a trip to St. Louis and back Sunday in time for daycare Monday.

It is all such an awesome plan. Until I get home, walk in the bathroom and remember that is a double switch also has a fan switch on it. It was a thought I guess. I need to look and see if they have a sensor one with another hole. I think I will put this one in the playroom though so I guess not a total loss.

    Timer

    Hi,
We use a timer. It's one that you turn and it'll run out of time and turn the lights off! We love it! Hope this helps.

I have a sensor in my bathroom and we tied the fan to the light. So when the light pops on, so does the fan. That may drive you nuts, but it's an option.

I actually thought of that, but it would make me nuts. That and the plate on the sensor is not anywhere big enough to cover the double plate whole. DH is home, put the one I bought in the play room. He has a doctors appointment tomorrow and when he is in town he is going to stop at Lowe's and see what they have and if they have any ideas. There may be something that fits and I just can't find it online.

The only issue I can see with the sensor in the play room right now is that when I sit on the floor and "play" it doesn't pick up my movement. I may have to adjust the timer out longer. I don't want to, but we shall see what happens. I am just so sick of saying "go turn out the lights if you are done in there".

I have not shopped at WM in 10+ years, Nor Sams. My sisters think I am stupid for not liking the store, but I have never regretted my decision to stop.

I have wanted to a sensor in the bathroom too. We have 3 switches, one for the over the sink light, one for the fan and one for the light (that is also the fan). Would one of these work for my set up? How much do they cost?

Actually I think you can find something that will! Hubby was looking online at Lowes.com and found what we need. I was looking for the whole piece. He found a plate that is what I need he is going to get it and another sensor when he is in town tomorrow. They have all kinds of just covers, so we will put in the new switch, but not use the cover it comes with and put the other switch back in the regular hole. We need this plate (I am hoping to get it in white):
