For me, it depends on the child. On Black Friday, I only had one child for the first three hours of the day (ended up with five total) and that was lovely. Child actually got a significant amount of one on one (usually I have 15-18 with 1-2 other teachers) and I got caught up on paperwork, labeling shelves, etc. The last hour and a half, I only had one, but it was a different one and that one drove me half insane.

I wouldn't say that asking for the week after Christmas off would be too much, but it would depend on your families. Are they off or able to be off? Do they have consistent, reliable backup?

True! But I always seem to wind up with the one who's "PLAY WITH MEEEEEEE!" And "I'm boooooooooored!" And "where is everyone else?" And my favorite "I wish I could be home with my mom!" The last one was after we had gone to the playground, baked cookies, painted, and watched a show (and I'm a no tv day care...) etc.

So yeah, that's reason behind my three child minimum (wheather I getting paid from all or not ) ::
