I have a DCB - he is sweet and funny but stubborn and strong willed to a T. He is my most challenging DCK.
I have a security door and he likes to play with it during pick up. In fact a couple of days after the door was installed DCB slammed it into my wall and made a large hole in the stucco. To this day DCB still plays with the door. He pushes it, kicks it, runs his hands on the metal - you name it, he does it. I have tried correcting him. Taking his hand, etc and DCD does nothing. He will half heartily say "DCB...." At pick up while I was trying to talk to DCD, DCB was messing with the door. I told him to stop and he continued. I tried to take his hand and he pulled away. I said "DCB, why do you think it is funny to push buttons. You know we don't touch the door." After I said it I immediately regretted it. It was said out of frustration for this child and DCD's lackadaisical attitude. I should have handled the situation better.
