    If You Have an Assistant...

Just wondering if you have an assistant, what did you start their pay out at, and how many hours do they work? I have been thinking logistics and I would really like someone 2 days a week. I would like to pay a fair and livable wage, have the same person long term, and be able to offer raises/bonuses at the year mark.

I pay my assistant what she would be paid as an aid in a center in my area. I pay her in 3 hour increments on an as needed basis. If I only really need her for 1 hour, I go ahead and have her work for 3 hours so it makes it worth her while to come to work that day.

I pay my assistant $10/hour. I really only need someone 3 afternoons/week for about 2 hours but I could not find anyone to work such little hours. I have her come 15 hours/week which is the min number of hours I could get someone to be willing to work. I am paying more than double what my need is, but I know I can rely on her and she is great with the kids.

            $10-12 per hour.

I found in order to get qualified candidates I need to pay well. But I also only need her a few mornings a week for a couple of hours.

Great, this is helpful. I live in CA so our minimum wage is like $9 something. I am thinking of staring at $12-14 hopefully that will allow for some negotiation.
