    Train Tables

I have a large train table, and most of it is glued down, but some parts of it can't be, due to it being hills and mountains. These parts of the track come off so easily and I spend all day fixing them.

Any ideas how to get them to stay together? Am I making any sense?

I had the same issues with mine.... I fixed it by setting it next to the curb with a sign that said "FREE"

Do you have older kids who are capable of assisting? Gives them leadership qualities and you don't have to constantly fix it yourself.

          That's what I did, too.

I had them for my own boys when they were little but they were in charge of set up and maintenance with the occasional helping hand from me.

I have tried it twice with daycare because apparently I am a glutton for punishment. ::

I am sorry. I don't have any suggestions.

gorilla glue will hold it together! I have mine where I can take it up and put other things on the table depending on my monthly them...this month I have the rudolph characters with santa and sleigh. My train track will stay together in one piece and I place it in my basement till I want it on the table again.

Ha-ha! Me too! It was out there for about five seconds before the neighbor snagged it!

My husband screwed down anything that could be screwed down and I Gorilla Glued the rest. I can pick the whole table up by a bridge if I want to. My almost two-year-old daycare boy hates it, because all he wants to do is tear it apart---he is the reason it all got secured so completely in the first place.

Yeah we were given a large train table and I sold it a couple of years later.

The toddlers kept trying to climb on it and the orders kids kept tossing tracks around.

If I were to do it again I'd buy a small one and gorilla glue it together, and have the tracks and things screwed down.

Ours is screwed and glued down. Anything that can come off goes in a tote underneath.

I don't glue or screw any of mine down and rarely have an issue. I like to remove the trains and put table top toys on the table from time to time though so it's not being played with constantly.

I have young ones, so it is definitely an issue. I use it for the winter only.

We have one in our lobby. The administrative staff spends a lot of time fixing it. And then there was the time a child vomited all over it...

But gorilla glue and screws sounds like the way to go!
