Any Cute Ideas for DCKs to Make Parents?

I figure next week we'll be getting more into the seasonal activities for Christmas. I have no idea of what to help the kids make as gifts for their parents. I'd like to get some done in early December so I'm not spending the rest of the month stressing as much as usual.
So is anyone else already thinking that far ahead?
I'll probably spend a few hours browsing pinterest some day soon.

We are doing a variation of these: http://www.mericherry.com/2014/11/24...de-gifts-kids/

I am going to put quotes that I've collected from the 'talkers' relating to their families. The littles will just have the art.

I have this problem every year. We want it to be something cute, but that kids can actually do most of, not just us. My class is 2 year olds.

I have my kids do these every year and then we make cookies to put on the plates:

The Make a Plate Art Kit has successfully provided art projects and fundraisers for elementary schools for over 40 years. Get yours at makit.com!

I've also done dry cookie or brownie ingredients layered in a Mason jar. The kids get to dump the ingredients in and it's super easy. All the parents have to do is add the wet ingredients.

Childcaremom, those are really cute!! I might have to get the supplies and do those with the dcks next week! Even the 18 mos could do them. Did you write the gratitudes on the back of the box or pictures?

And i like the idea of cookie mixes, kids love to help with stuff like that.

If I go with my plans of starting early I could have each child make a small basket of goodies for their parents. Ooh I like that idea.

          Keep the ideas coming please??

I understand the problem of having the kids do it themselves when they're little. A couple of mine are 18 mos and I've just started letting them do artwork. They still want to eat everything and smear it in their hair.
I want to do a craft with their picture but until I can figure out what's wrong with the connection between my camera and laptop, I still can't print pictures out. I'm so computer illiterate.

Last year we made the footprint reindeer, Christmas trees, snowman and penguin on canvas and they came out sooo cute! They'd be good for all ages, you just add the trimmings for the little ones or let the older ones add their own(with guidance of course or else they won't recognize what they are! )

I Love crafts call me the Crafty Queen . My fav idea you can buy the dollar mugs for dollar tree and let the children draw on them and bake them in the oven (so drawing will stay put) and put a pack of hot chocolate and marshmallows in it... or some type of holiday candy. It something cute and the parents can use it all year

I did that last year and the permanent markers came off after the first wash. I was SO disappointed!

I think there are specific markers you have to use. The sharpy Pinterest thing was untrue.

I was going to do those last year, bought the mugs and everything, then kept reading where people were having a hard time making it work. I gave the mugs away, still have the markers somewhere(which says they're supposed to write on ceramics?), and did something else instead. You can call me the UNcrafty queen.

I really like the Christmas tree made with the foot. Did you do that with acrylic paint and a canvas? What size canvas and did you write anything else on it?

A provider in our area posted these:

I thought they were really cute but if I made them, it would be for my family verses something for the DCK's to make.....NOT that they wouldn't be a really cute gift, just that I have 12 daycare kids... I would have had to have started last year in order to get that many done! ::

Anyways, if anyone is interested, here is the tutorial:

My kids are very young and I don't like finishing their art so my presents for parents will be super simple! I am just going to cut out the middle of a paper plate and give the kids green paint, tissue paper and various Christmas things to decorate the plate like a wreath. Then attach a bow. I might also add a picture for the middle but I don't want them to get overwhelmed!

Yes, the tree was one of 4 that we put on the same canvas. The canvas was 11x14 I think. At the top I wrote Merry Christmas and put their names/dates at the bottom. If you only did the tree you could maybe use an 8x10(or smaller, depending on how big their foot is).
Oops and yes, acrylic paints. So easy and so cute!!

There is also a cute one that makes a penguin with their foot (basically black paint). Super cute and different! You could add a santa hat and scarf to it to make it christmassy.
