Licensed or not, no way in HECK would I do this. It isn't about being licensed, and yes liability is important but it isn't even completely about that. If something happened, I know I would NEVER forgive myself if I did something I had been told over and over could cause death and I did it anyway and a child died.

I mean think about it even on a smaller scale. You do something to cut corners and say for instance you burn yourself and your first thought it "dang it I knew better". You kind of tell yourself off about it, but at the end of the day no big deal. But if a child died and you had to say "I knew better", what would it do to you?

What about one of those Rock N Play Sleepers?

I have had 2 babies who started out only sleeping in the swing but one ended up going to a family member for free and the other I switched over to the crib. I was nervous at first but wouldn't you know it, he sleeps just fine in a crib despite parents saying he won't. LOL

She had said in the beginning that she would get a doctors note if I were to get my dc license". What does being Licensed have to do with it?..

I have been fine with this and he is doing well, I keep him in the living room with me.

I have no intrest in being licensed and even if I was the note wouldn't matter....it is a huge no no.

Anyways I can't help but be a little scared because of the information I have read about babies dying from positional asphyxiation.
                What would you do?
I would not be caring for the child if it needed to sleep in a swing. It doesn’t matter if the child is next to you.

My friend a professional lost a child on her watch. It only takes seconds for anyone to pass on.

The baby dies on her watch. It’s too bad, so sad what a terrible loss.

The baby dies on your watch. It’s illegal childcare provider. What did you do to my baby?! And if you ever want to or need to become a professional childcare provider chances are you may not be able to.

If you know it’s unsafe for the child then stop doing it immediately.

I have a 3 m/o who (the mom claims has re flux) he spits up like a normal baby would. (esp for a formula fed baby) I burp him really well after each bottle. She told me at he interview that he has to sleep in a swing or bouncy. She brought a note and everything. I put him in a crib and does fine. I don't think he has as bad of a case as she thinks. (shes a new mom) I told her that ultimately he needs to sleep in a crib not elevated. She finally agreed. I see a lot of posts on line saying that they don't understand why is dangerous for baby to sleep in the car seats, and other bouncies but the research is out there. I would put him in a crib.
