again I am not saying its wrong that they are doing it, but I see it no different than a child's desire to seek out personal body parts, it's not ok for daycare, they need to do it at home.

With the paci, dentist are constantly suggesting to parents to limit the use or take away altogether, for fear of crooked teeth in the future.

Anybody ever see Toy Story 2? In the Caterpillar room, when they slow motion the child that licks Buzz Light Years helmet?.....yayyyy.....!

At my center, the children who are constantly mouthing toys are given a chewy stick. We carve their initials into it and each one is stored in its own container, labeled with the child's name. There's a paper towel at the bottom to absorb saliva/water. The containers are attached to the wall with velcro.

If the children want theirs, they are free to go get it. When they are done with it, they have to rinse it off and put it away. Each chewy stick is cleaned and sanitized at the end of the day and paper towels are changed daily. The actual container is cleaned and sanitized once per week.
