Yes, this! Even if you decide to hold onto the check until Friday, that's up to you but they need to give you the check on their last day in care.

Thank you everyone! I have decided to just have them pay on the last day of child's attendance each week like everyone was suggesting. They can pay however they want, but if they want me to hold their check until Friday, I will do that. No more waiting around. I had one mom tell me she "won't" be paying me until tomorrow since she's busy today. I was thinking "you could have paid yesterday!". So I told her fine (I can't do much else since I was dumb and didn't put late fees into the policies), but that from now on I need payment on child's last day of attendance and she was welcome to pay by check if she wants and I will not deposit until that Friday. At first she said she just wouldn't be bringing dcg because she didn't "want me to be upset at not getting paid on time". I've been nothing but nice to her, working with her, while still enforcing my policies that I do have in place. Such a smart alec. I decided I'm replacing her spot as soon as possible. I'm done with her attitude toward me. This is only one area where she's gotten attitude.

I think it depends on what bank or service you use that will allow you to transfer money like this..
Yes this is how it started in Canada too with only 1-2 banks offering it. Now it is so popular every bank offers it. It makes things soooo much easier!

Another idea is to get 3 months worth of post dated checks. I did this before email money transfers. That way you already have the check and can cash it when it's convenient for you. When they run out you get another 3 months worth. I did this for years.
