All of this talk is making me want to buy a lice/nit comb from amazon right now just to have on hand.

Curious - how do you check curly hair for lice/nits? Seems like the comb would be hard to get through curly hair.

I wet my dd's hair which made it easier to get the comb through it. She had long, thick, curly hair which I think made it that much harder to get rid of the lice. My dcg's hair was also curly but fine rather than thick. It was also shorter than my dd's so it was easy enough to check for lice on her. It still took her dad several attempts and several weeks to finally get rid of her lice.

        MORE BUG TALK!

EW! This is part of the reason I don't mind doing my daycare kid's hair in the morning when they get here.

I also use tea tree oil in our family shampoo as a preventative.

Haha I agree: EW! I HATE those things. How much tea tree oil do you put in your shampoo? How many drops of it to how many ounces shampoo? I've heard that's a really good preventative, but wasn't sure how much of it to put.
