    Pumpkin for sensory bin?

Is there a reason not to quarter a couple pumpkins and let them at it?

    Nope.

This time of year is great for sensory fun!

I usually take a big pumpkin or two and cut the top off and let them go at it.

I tell them who ever collects the most seeds wins. happyface

I spread a big plastic shower curtain or table cloth out first though.

I've seen people place a pumpkin or two and have a container to the side for the kids to try to remove seeds by hand and place in the container. Once they have enough, the seeds can be cleaned and go in the oven (with a spritz of cooking oil and a sprinkling of salt @400 for 45 min)

Last year I bought one for each kid and we spent a whole morning cleaning them out and then enjoyed the seeds for snack

I am not super feeling it this year, so I think I am buying little pumpkins to paint.

        But have fun!

I give mine a pumpkin, mallets and golf t's. A pumpkin and a power drill (with close supervision of course) and I cut the top off of one. Who needs cookie cutter crafts?
