    I'm having a week!

My dck's are all so naughty this week! I have no clue what has gotten into them. This morning I woke up and baked brownies as a special treat for am snack. I very rarely do stuff like that. I'm mostly organic/non-processed/blah blah blah blah. But this morning I thought, what the heck? Let's live a little.

I brought the brownies downstairs and put them high on a bookshelf - way out of reach for the morning. I went upstairs to grab 5 cups for water, and was gone maybe 60 seconds. By the time I came back down, they had arranged different beanbags and worked together to tip the brownie plate over so they could get them.

I was so mad. I took them away - only one child had actually gotten one, and said, "Ms. Midaycare is not happy about this...no brownies for snack!" So back to fruit and veggies.

Mine have been holy terrors this week too! I have (2) 21m and a 16m. Their latest thing is jumping on the furniture. While I'm correcting one the other two run to the couch or the love seat, so there is one on each, making it very difficult for me to physically remove them both at the same time.

They are fighting like little lunatics, over nothing. They have always had spats throughout the day. They are toddlers, but it's gotten ridiculous. My biter hasn't tried to bite in a couple of weeks, (which means as soon as I trust him he will leave a nice mark on someone) but has taken to picking up toys to hit with.

I'm just glad it's Friday! Hopefully next week will be better.

Lol! Yes, that must be it!

And yes, BC, a new week on Monday. But it's Friday so let's not think about that yet!

Everything's fine, everything's fine, as long as midaycare gets her wine ...

As naughty as this was I would have trouble not having a little internal smile at their problem solving abilities and teamwork. When my daughter was little she was always getting in my purse to get makeup. I started putting it on a really tall dresser (the dresser was anchored to the wall). She pulled out the bottom drawer and then pulled out each drawer a little bit less making "steps" out of the drawers to get to my purse on top. She was 2.
When my son was that age he kept letting his balloon go and it would float up to the ceiling so he couldn't reach the string. After me getting it several times I told him I was done and hed have to figure out how to get it himself. It took him maybe 10 minutes before he came back holding the broom that had a little hook on the end, it took him another minute to get the hook onto the loop on the string. My favorite part of watching children is seeing them problem solve.

Yeah, yeah. I had the internal smile. But I'm still mad. I'm happy theybworked together, but is there any reason they can't do that normally? Or does it take a brownie to unite them?

Well I'm glad it's not just me! Dcg that I'd written about needing so much attention, chasing after me if I'd walk two steps away asking where I was going and couldn't let me out of her sight. Well this week she decides to be stubborn and uncooperative about everything. I didn't get any preschool work done at all with her yesterday because of her mood. She spent the entire morning chasing after me on her hands and knees whining like a puppy after I finally ignored her behavior when I noticed she was feeding on the attention. And then if I'd ask her a question like, "DCG, would you like to play a game?" She would respond by whining like a dog. By lunch time she'd switched to talking to me again...in the voice people use when talking to a young child. And kept talking to me like I was the three year old. Every time I'd get ready to take a bite (I eat when they do), she'd say, "Biiig bite! Take a big bite. MMM, it's good isn't it?" And after lunch she very sweetly picks my plate up to bring it to the sink, and asks, "Are you done?" Then, "Did you get full?" Still talking to me like I'm a young child. I was so glad when nap time came and I got a break!

:: Yes, I had a little smile reading this. Sorry.

I love watching them when their wheels are spinning.

I think you answered your own question! If you want cooperation, bring out some brownies! ::

My nephews worked together to get candy canes off the Christmas tree at home, my SIL uses really ones. However when they tried it here, the were quite disappointed to find they were fake.
