    Pondless waterfall

Do any of you have water features in your yard? I know there are many regulations about this. I have always wanted to put a pond less waterfall in our little garden area. I emailed my licensor about it but she hasn't replied.

They are pretty cool because there is no standing water, it all drains into a reservoir under a grate with rocks over it. I think it would be pretty fun for the kids to play with, and I could definitely choose when that is since I could turn it on and off. What do you think?

We have a river that runs along the front of our house.

You have to cross a wooden bridge over the river to get to my front door.

This photo was taken from the end of the river looking upstream.

At the beginning of the river is a water fall

The water is constantly circulating from one end of the river back up to the water fall.

I don't have any advice as to what legalities there are for child care licensing as my river is at my home and my daycare is not run out of my home.
I just wanted to share my river.....!

That's pretty awesome! I love the sound of running water and really hope I can do this. I think it'd be great for the kids and me haha. My husband is super handy - so it won't be that expensive considering we have river rocks already.

I would love a river but I don't have the room plus standing water.

I see that you are in CA. your pond would fall under the same rules as a pool. any body of open water the kids CAN NOT have access to it.

one of my friends has been doing DC for almost 20 years. She has a bird bath in front of her house where the kids do not play, but have to walk past it daily to get to her front door. well sure enough, she got inspected last year and she was cited for having an open body of water accessible to children. UGH. stupid, but rules are rules.

sorry just read your post again. I guess it would fall under water play and you would just have to provide 100% supervision and make certain that when and if it ever rains () that it does not fill up and pose a body of water. it sounds really nice
