crib climber overnight stay parent out of town

I have this 17 month old for three overnight s while parent out of town .ive had sice he was a infant, they went out of town for two months and just came back yesterday before he left he could not climb out I had no idea he could do it now.day time is fine I have no problem putting back a bunch of time or stay in sight and say no! When try to climb out.my question is for overnight he was sleeping in the room next to mine and there is a window in my room that goes to that room so can see and hear him and a extra tall baby gate he climb out if bed really late and I heard him and he climbed over the tall baby gate was caught climbing over.I definitely dont feel say having him try to wonder the house even though its pretty safe hear. I was thinking the only solution is to put the crib in my room tonight .

Stack baby gates on top of each other to make it really tall so he can't climb it.

my oldest was a climber, I moved him to the floor. he rolled out of a toddler bed, he was too young and I could not keep him in the crib any longer. He was climbing out and fell, hit his head, taken to ER and that was the last day of the crib. We got a toddler bed, he rolled right out of it. so we put his mattress on the floor and I just made certain stayed in it. it took about a month to get him to stay in it and not keep coming out, but he eventually stopped all the craziness and went to sleep.

He may not be sleeping well because even though he's with you during the day, being with you at night is different.
Are you licensed? Do you normally do overnight care or was this a favor?
I would never offer overnight care for my dcfamilies. Way too much liability.
I would also not have guests over when I was working, it's not allowed by licensing here. But even if you're not licensed it's a pretty big liability.

And the next time the parents asked I would say no. Sounds like he's a handful!

Yay he slept in just woke up 9.55 am .yes I do the overnights with him all the time and when mom goes out town .so he is use to it he is a very good kid probably one of the best ive had thats why I dont mind having him for overnights. I just think it might be beacuse he was gone for a month to see sick realative out of state.so it kinda messed up his routine/schedule.no im not liscenced but would like to get one I do have almost everything I need.

When mom picked up I found out why he gets up that early it was due to the out of state time change of course the dont mention that at drop off today was a good day he woke up at 10 took a nap at 12 and sleep until pickup 3:30.

The parents went out of town for 2 months and left the child in your care?
What do the parents do that they need to leave their child for that long?

I think she meant the child was out of care for two months as the family was out of town. I had to re-read it a few times!
