    Pass along MGT

    Hello,

i had an idea this week while using our Mother Goose time curriculum.

How about if we pass along to an other provider our monthly curriculum? So for example I will use the October curriculum and pass it to an other provider who would use it in November.

They recently upgrade their curriculum which includes better quality daily bags. This month so far we had shape toys, little plastic bus, 3 paper boards game, a book and cute paper things (like people/shape/feeling cube ect...). The crafts aren't great and if planned ahead you can purchase all materials needed in the beginning of the month (to copy the craft they suggested).

I also purchase the Toy Box will be great to pass along. Is good quality toys.

Of course that will means we trust everyone to keep everything in good shape. And the second user might pay the shipping cost too, or we can do exchange for daycare material? (used books or more).

I feel bad thowing everything in the trash, since we don't have time to use them again...And I know the monthly cost can be high if you have a small group (I pay $250 monthly), I just thought it would be a good way to reuse.

I do not know if this kind of suggestion is allowed on this forum. and if is not I apologize ahead and completely understand if you delete my message.

I've thought about how easy it would be to reuse MGT, so I've started keeping all my teacher guide books along with the color print description of the daily craft. I think I'll keep paying for it for another year, but by then I'll have all the manipulatives and craft ideas I need to go along with every lesson in the books, so I'll just stop buying it. I increased my rates by $25 a week for my preschool class to cover the cost (I have 6 kids).

I'm not sure I'd be willing to split costs with another provider, but that's because I like keeping all the manipulatives and I laminate some of the great things they send like the 8x10 alphabet posters.

I thought about keeping it too but I don't have enough space. Is such a struggle to keep things reorganize when your have limited space.

And I just feel bad wasting so much stuff. It would feel good knowing someone else get to use I too. I wish I know some providers in my area!

Where do you get your stuff laminated? Is a really good idea to do so.

I don't know about your area, but in my area of California we have inexpensive laminating available at our local Resource & Referral. The Resource & Referral is also where I meet other providers in my area. They have association meetings at the referral center. They are a great resource for providers.

For laminating, I also own a small home laminator. The ones for home run under $100 and they are great for laminating small posters and curriculum materials.

That's what I did. I don't really do cookie cutter art anymore either, so I use the themes, laminated things, some of the ideas in the teacher guide, etc.

After another provider on here told me about Harbor Freight, I picked one up there for $30. A set of 24 pouches costs about $8. I went crazy and laminated almost everything in my house when I got it, it's so fun to use!

The best thing I've ever laminated were playdough mats I found on Pinterest. We have SO much fun with them!

I'm interested. I have only three kids I've been doing preschool for.
Let me know how you would want to work it out.
              Thanks!
