I see what you are saying. I guess you would have to see it that you would be getting off a lot earlier too which would mean you are not running water, lights, etc. BUT if you need to make a certain amount, then I see what you are saying.
I am now currently the highest priced in-home, but that is only if you stay from open to close. Currently I don't have anyone who does.
Before I changed to tier schedule, I was working open to close with most of my kids. I did the rate increase with the tier rates and all of a sudden everyone said they wanted 8-430.
I would tell your parents that you are looking at rate increase and how it will work. Don't tell them the pricing just tell them that the longer they stay the higher the rate. Give them an example. See what their reaction is.
I can't find the letter I sent out when I did it. Unfortunately, my computer crashed several months ago and it was not backed up, so I don't have that letter anymore.
I had one family that wanted open to close and didnt want to pay the new rate. I asked them to provide me their notice. Magically they found someone to pick them up daily by 430.
Like Nannyde said. it will cost you to have me stay and it will cost you dearly.
think of it like this. if you have only 2 kids that need to stay for the last hour of daycare, how much are you really making during that hour? AFTER TAX.? It will make sense to just not even offer it for two kids. I won't do it for any kids,
I don't want to work past 5pm anymore. Every year I think oh no, I hope that I find families who will be able to take those hours and every year I find them. Sometimes I have to pass on really good families, but my hours are firm.
