    Late Drop off Policy?

What are you policies on this? I have a 6:30am dropoff, who texted me at 6:30am saying she was coming at 7, then showed up at 7:45. I don't have any other dropoffs till 7:45. I am sick and I could have been sleeping till 7 since my own kids don't get up that early! Ugh!

I wouldn't care if my lost sleep wasn't an issue. I told her next time I need 24hrs notice but I have no way of enforcing that.

Long as I'm being paid I don't care. I charge for the full shift so no biggie

I look at late drop-offs as a gift from the housekeeping fairy. lovethis It buys me that much free time after pickup.

Now, I do have a mid-morning deadline because I don't like kids coming in wide awake, over tired and filled with caffeine and sugar for naptime. I am crazy like that..
      - Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.

Totally understand the frustrations of because she is your 1st drop off. I don't have a policy against saying one thing than doing another.:: I should.

          So much this!

Also if it is repeated, I would TELL them that you're changing their contracted hours to the hours they are actually using. Did that once.

Yeah. If it was after 7:30 I don't really care cus I have other drop offs. It just the combo of being sick/needing rest and knowing I could have gotten more sleep!

If i had a dollar for all the I could have dont this or that since I have been in business, I would be retired.

Its your contracted times set. I agree that it is annoying, but that is just that much more free time you get and you get paid for it.

              my rates work like this.

regular flat rate hours are from 8am to 430pm anything before or after this time is an additional fee.

              so

the earliest I open is 7:30

              730am add $6.00
              745am add $3.00

pick up at 430 no additional fee.

              pick up at

              445 add $3 more
              500 add $5more
              515 add $5more

so my daily flat rate is $50 for 8 to 430
if your hours are from 730 (add 6) to 500 (add 5), then your rate would be $61.00 a day. I am full all year around.

I took Nannyde idea and expanded on it.

I have it set up much easier for the parents to understand

                  I love this.

How do you explain it differently to parents? Or do you just ask for their hours and then tell them the price?
