    Would You Do This?

I have a neighbor that is an acquaintance, she has a 5yo/entering k, she is a teacher, but at the HS so earlier start time than the primary school.

She needs care from 7-8:05am/getting on bus only on school days. She is putting her daughter in the school's aftercare program for the 30-45 minutes she will need care after school(which is free to her). They also do all inservice days when school is closed but teachers report.

I open at 7 since I have a child contracted to drop off at that time daily.

It doesn't affect my ratios at all- I have 4 kids who don't arrive until closer to 9. If there is a school delay/snow day, Mom would be staying home until start time as well.

I'm thinking it sounds like extra money-:: my early drop off is sa dck, he and my own younger kids read books, raid the art center, and/or play legos for 30m, breakfast at 7:30, wash hands and get ready for the bus.

My typical bef/after school rate is 17.50/day. I wouldn't feel right charging them the whole rate, maybe cut that in half? 43.75/week for about 5 hours and 25 minutes of care.

Sure, I would do that if I were you but agree with PP about rounding the amount

Why not? Super easy money! Definitely an even number though

It sounds good but I'd just remind her that those are the only hours I had available (if they are). I've had part timers come and then they like it and want to add on more hours here and there. In your case I could see her asking for a few hours on school holidays, etc. Actually 3/4 of my part timers became full timers (not school aged though).

I would double check on the school delay thing. Because here they delay each school and start time individually. So she will get the delay and have to be there an hour before kiddos bus here. That is due to sharing the same busses, the middle and HS run first here then the buses start the elementary routes.

I think it would not be worth the money.I would not want to feed him breakfast each day.If he ate at home then I would charge the 50.00 dollers per week.To provide breakfast I would charge 15.00 a day.Seems like a pain for to little money. What does before school charge?
