8 week old breast fed baby

I've got a little guy that was due August 3rd but because of a complication with his older brother was taken by C- Section at 36 weeks. Even at 36 weeks he was born at over 6 pounds so he was a healthy weight, a few complications with his breathing had him in NICU for 10 days but all is good now.

In your experience how much breast milk should this little guy be drinking and how often? Obviously Mom can't measure what she feeds him and I know that all kids are different I am just looking for your personal experiences.

    Thank you!

My dcbs take between 3oz and 5oz every 2-2 1/2 hours
Babies are different and I believe even the milk from the same mother can be different according to her meals
I feed all babies on demand, whether they're breast or formula and if the doctor doesn't worry, I don't either....I had a little girl that at 4months ate 2oz of formula every 4 hours

Thanks Gemma! I love these parents to death, they are really good people but she had to return to work this week although she wasn't quite ready, she is exhausted so her main goal is to get this little guy to sleep through the night. She has this book, can't remember which one but apparently it worked with their first child so she wants it to work for this little guy. Feedings are at 7:00 am, 11:00am, 3:00pm, 7:00pm 11:00pm and 3:00am, eventually getting rid of the 11:00 pm and 3:00 am feedings so that they sleep from 7:00 pm until 7:00 am. I personally hate when parents ask me to stick to a strict schedule like that and I have told her that I will do my best but I will not let a hungry baby cry and she does understand that. Right now he is only drinking around 4 ounces although I fill the bottles to 5ounces. It just seems like 4 ounces is really his limit, if he does take more he usually ends up spitting up.

Yikes. I absolutely would not agree to only feed an 8 week old baby by a set schedule. My little guys would eat approx 3-4 oz every 2-2/2 hours when they were that age. My formula fed baby would eat around 5-6oz every 4hrs. Breast milk is digested differently than formula.
