Not Sure What The Problem Is????

How would you take this....a dad came to pick up his 4.5 year old son. He wanted to talk to me. He said...."don't worry, it might not have come from here but my son said he has a B A B Y (spelled it out) in his S T O M A C H"

So.....what do you think he was trying to tell me???????? I just don't see the problem. Is he afraid his son might find out where babies come from? Is he afraid that his son wants to be a girl? What???????

Wow. I'd have said "Ok?" and just looked at him.

      What did you say?

I would have asked him exactly what his point was. Whether or not it did or didn't "come from there" is irrelevant as it's HIS child and HIS responsibility to teach him about those kinds of things when comments like that are made.

I would have asked him what he said in response to his son as well.

You would think that parents would remember how kids imaginations get when they have little bits of info. He needs to talk to his kid and explain some things. Not saying he needs to get graphic of course, but it is time to give some age appropriate info and that needs to come from the parents.

You could have asked dad to e-mail you whatever question he had.

Did he expect you to spell out your reply??
Some parents don't worry about anything and some are over the top. Where are the average normal ones.

Just today, my son told me spiderman has a baby in his stomach. I asked, 'oh, what's it going to be? An elephant?' Because he was playing with an elephant and spiderman. He said 'No! A cute little spiderman!' Lol had to share. What a weird thing for dcd to be alarmed about. BUT, I guess if he's not used to kids? Maybe he doesn't know what to expect.

I really didn't have time to ask any questions because he changed the subject. I just kept wondering what was I supposed to be worried about.

Then I got one one of "those" calls from a mom wanting to know how her son got hurt today......said he had a gouge by his eye. I saw it yesterday and it was a tiny scratch that I noticed when he came in. Why is everything such a big deal? How does a scratch become a gouge? And why is it always assumed that it happened at daycare?

Could he have thought that you were pregnant, and he was waiting for you to confirm it? (My child has her third pregnant teacher in a row and the students always knew before the parents.)
