OK so baby number 3 will be here the end of October. That month I have to open late every Friday (weekly prenatal), plus there's a Thursday I need to be closed to bring my 4 year old to a specialist (mostly due to travel time). Baby gets here on the 27th (c section) and I'm closed for two weeks. Thosw two weeks are unpaid, parents know that. But would you discount the rate at all for opening late since it is every week? A sub in my home is not an option. I do have a provider who does back up for me if families choose to use her (in her own home). So here's the ideas I've been throwing around:
Use my back up on Fridays and get a reduced rate for the week, but children must be with her all day.
No reduced rate at all, since all families knew about the pregnancy/appointments etc and are getting the 2 weeks I'm off for free.
Giving a slight discount for the month to off set the inconvenience.
Oh! Regular policy is you pay regardless of attendance except for vacation weeks.
...I don't know, ideas? Opinions? I'm just thinking of this sttuff now as most of my families are M-Th but I recently signed on a Monday-Friday family and well, they are going to be missing a ton of time at work. Ugh ..I'm letting my emotions have too much control over this and need to focus more on the business side of things..so...help?!
