Field Trips

For those of you who do field trips, how do you choose what day to take the field trip if you have part-timers ie. MWF & TTH. If you pick Friday for example what would you say to the TTH families? There isn't a way to be fair eh?

The way I do it is to pick whatever day works for me. Then I inform all the parents of the day, time, cost, and required dress attire for the trip. If space is available parents can pay for an extra day for their child to attend the trip.

I am open M-thurs so I plan my field trips for a Friday and it is open to all families. Before when I was open M-F I picked a day that worked best for me, and all families had the option to attend. Either way worked for my families because I give them at least a month notice.

During the summer, I have set outing days. The parents know from the beginning what we're doing and when. It's their choice to come or not.

During the school year, I only go on major outings on days that the kids are off of school. Otherwise, it's just local trips that I decide on that morning.
