I have a part time four year old who is my oldest child in care. Lately the child has been struggling with playing nicely with the other kids. Most of the new behaviors I have figured out my wording for correcting. One I'm still trying to figure out.
So, one of the other children will ask someone else where a certain toy is, or express out loud what they intend to play with next. 4 year old will then scurry to said toy to have it first and proudly exclaim to have it and be having a turn. The first few times I tried ignoring, but it is becoming a disruptive habit.
An attempt to explain but you know the other child wanted to play with it next, did not have desired result.
Any ideas? I'm about to call out "FREEZE!" the next time the scurrying begins.
