We just read "Don't squeal unless it's a big deal." It was ok--not exactly what I was hoping for, but fine. But the kids really liked that phrase, and used it afterward.

You can make a poster

Make a poster with a grown up cartoon on it
Underneath write Tattling John
Place a phone beneath tattling John

Tell them to call John and let him know what the kids did wrong

Or turn it around into something they can say or do about the situations they are tattling about. They will feel empowered=)
