    Cerebral Palsy

So one of my DCGs I just signed has CP. It is not severe but it is there. She has a leg brace and will be sleeping here, and her leg brace has a strap that at night is put on to stretch her leg. She is doing a second year of kindy, because of her CP and some of the issues. Mainly reading. Mom is a nurse and was able to tell me a ton and mom seems willing to help me along the way. My main concern is mom says she is impulsive because of the area of the brain it is in. So mom says you tell her not to go in the street, and mostly she won't but then out of the blue off she goes, she just sometimes loses control. It really seems like a matter of training the other parts of her brain to make up for the injured part. Like a stroke almost I guess. Anyway have you dealt with this? Any advice? Mom also said to make her do any activities in care that involve walking and running or she will loose use of that side of her body. She is here overnight right now, but will soon be here before and after school.
