A Shooting Right Down The Road From Me

And in the news today...

Just after 4 a.m. this morning, police received a call for a body that was found at the end of Dar*** Road near Red**** Road. Police determined that a man in his twenties suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. There are no suspects and no known motive at this time.

This is literally in my neighborhood! I'm only a street away from one of those roads!

(I put stars on the ending of the names of the roads because I don't want to give too much information about my address.)

I have one more school year that I am stuck living here. Then, if I can afford to, I can move ANYWHERE I want! I just have to work on affording to move!

I'm guessing the shooting was drug and/or gang related. I just found the victim's Facebook page and there's pictures of him throwing up gang signs.

That's so sad. I'll never understand why anyone would want to risk their life for something like an area or turf that isn't really theirs. In some cases the people aren't even really gang members, they just hang out with them and post photos of themselves wearing gang-like related clothes and throw up gang signs and other people that really are in gangs end up going after them thinking that they're gang members. Sometimes it's just a case of mistaken identity

I will never understand why people don't value their own lives or others either. To kill or die over turf or drugs; I just will never understand. It's such a waste of one's life. I just wish the people who get involved in things like that would see potential in themselves to become more than drug dealers or drug addicts.

Police had the my road blocked off after a driver speed off from a officer and crashed. He then fled on foot. The police dogs lost his trail at some point near my neighbors.
