    How to Find an Assistant?

    Hi everyone!
I hope your week is going well I am looking to hire an assistant to come in to stay with the infants while I do pick ups at the local elementary schools. School is starting in exactly a week and I am beginning to panic. I have posted jobs on the local community college online job board, indeed, sittercity and craigslist. The only responses I have gotten are from candidates who live an hour away. I can really only afford to have someone here a couple hours a day but re did the adds for 20 hours a week hoping to find someone who wants to make more than $20/day. No new applicants yet.
Do any of you use a helper? How did you find them? Do you guarantee their hours/pay each week? Is it hard to put your trust in someone while you leave the premises? I am really struggling with the idea of leaving someone here in my home alone with the children, but I think putting someone else in charge of driving is probably a worse idea. Any advice on finding quality help would be so appreciated

I was not open to just someone off the streets, I needed someone that I could trust in my home.

I have the exact problem as you! I'm currently going with my backup plan of hiring my 18 yr old son for now, but would love to have someone long term. No advice, just know I'm in the boat with you, :/
