    Direct Mail Campaigns

Has anyone here ever used a direct mail list to get the word out about your daycare? I run a small dc only licensed for 6 kids but I need to fill a couple of spots and I'm not getting any calls.

I had thought about it because I am not getting calls either. But I think it sounds pricey and maybe looks a little desperate? I dunno.

I would advertise every where you can online for free so that you come up in search engines.

Mail campaigns usually have a return rate of about 1% so imagine how many you would have to send out to get a bite.

Do you have a FB page? I've advertised through there a bit and it's worked quite well so far. Only spent $38.00

So you have found paying for Facebook advertising to work?

Vista print offers a direct mailing option. You tell them the criteria you are looking to target (families within 20 miles of you that have children under age 10 for example) and the compile a list of addresses and people that meet those search parameters.

I've heard good things about it and know some providers that have had good luck using this option but I suppose it depends on how metro your area is...kwim?

If you are interested in checking it out, you can find the details here

Thanks for the tip on vistaprint. That's who I order my business cards from.

I posted an upbeat, short and effective post to my local garage sale fb sites. I touched on my small group, my trainings and my general location.

It seems to be working out and is so fast.

I do a mailing every spring to gain new enrollments for Sept, new drop in-s, new infants for my waiting list. Works GREAT. I spend about $75 for 100 families, and the vistaprint mailings keep track so you never mail to the same house twice.

I love vistaprint but I couldn't find where you put the criteria in and stuff. I wanted the postcards to match my business cards but I'm not sure I can figure that out.

Once you design the postcard, the second step is where it asks for the criteria you want to use for filtering out which families/who to end the mailings too. I've had good luck with calling Vista Print and talking to their customer service reps. They are very helpful.

Thanks, upon closer examination I was able to figure that out. I have never done a mailing before, what kind of info should I put on it. I don't want to appear to disparate although i'am ! So far I just have my dc name, my name and contact info. Should I put my address? Email? How many openings?
