    The "Best Friend" Issue

In my daycare, there are three girls (almost 3, 3.5, and almost 4). They all love to declare a best friend multiple times a day, and of course it changes every time. It inevitably leads to arguments, hurt feelings, and cattiness. Someone usually ends up saying "You are NOT my best friend!"

I've said, "We are ALL best friends here" till I'm blue in the face. I'm looking for ideas on how to handle this. It happens so often, it's driving me nuts!

I had the same issue with a group of 3 kids. When 2 decided they were best friends and left the other out I would say - oh, perfect because X and I are best friends. It ended pretty quickly. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Have you seen a pattern of one of the three never not being a best friend?
I have two her plus my dd and if RK does not get his way he defriends the others.

It's not one particular girl. Two will notice they both have a purple shirt, therefore, they are best friends. Ten minutes later, it changes.
