    I Love Great DCP

I have a boy who is part time. He is 8 and staying with his grandmother until school starts again. Grandma is awesome. I had him tonight from 8:30-10:30 because it was grandpas time to work the rotating weekend night shift, and grandma works at WM and had to work tonight. So grandma comes in with a 4 pack of ice cream sundae cones. I said "I will put these in the freezer for us to all have next week when we are here". She said "no these are for your family I appreciate you so much". Last week, she brought in a huge bag of cherries for him to share I tried to send the extra home and she told me to keep them. Sometimes the little things really do add up. Now I just need to figure out where I can cut some carbs and sugars tomorrow to have one of these cones .

The thoughtful dcps really help us make it through our weeks don't they?? Gotta love 'em!
I have a dcm who is constantly doing things like that. Last week she brought in this huge bag of cut up fruits, telling me it'd go bad at her house and asked if we could use it. It lasted us 2 meals and I have a ton of kids.
Parents like these are a godsend!!

Oh and her grandson has great manners also. Since I have been restarting my program, I am still picking up stuff as I find it. I didn't have any little legos and picked up a few at the thrift store last weekend. He came in and was playing with them (they are keeping him busy), and said "thank you so much for getting these I really appreciate it". I am not charging enough for him really, but I am hoping for word of mouth from grandma since she works at WM and is around a lot of people. But little things like that make me so happy. I sent him a "daycare gram" in the mail after the lego thing, mostly a card to grandma to let her know how great his manners were but addressed it to DCB because all kids love to get mail.

Oh how nice!!! Sounds like dcb has learned a lot of wonderful things from a wonderful family.
I also love that you acknowledged his great manners to both of them. Sounds like a good match! I wish for you, a lot of future great matches.

Sadly he lives in another state and will only be with me another month or so. He stays with his grandma over the summer. But maybe he will be back next year. And maybe grandma will be great word of mouth for me.
