    Are You Serious?

Usually, when a child leaves I get some sort of gift. I don't expect it. It is nice to know the parents appreciated me. Yesterday was one child's last day and to be honest I didn't really like the family from jump. I didn't want any thing. I also knew there were "money" issues. You know the kind, the family has all sorts of gadgets and pricey items but complains about paying bills. I found it odd when the mom had another child she didn't enroll the younger sibling with me. Then, she divorced her husband. She seemed to always want a hand out. You know, she would pay but say her husband wasn't paying her child support or something along those lines. Like hint hint, give me a discount. She even once asked me how I handle late payments in a too causal manner and I just told her to read the handbook. I knew they would be leaving soon as her older child is able to start school in September. A week ago, she tells me the date. I'm secretly happy about it, but play it cool. I really got a kick out of it when she picked up yesterday she sort of lingered it. It came down to "It was their last day. I thought you would have a party". Are you serious? I was very tempted to say "I have a clown and balloons, but they canceled last minute". I've never done this for any child before and I've had some children and families I outright loved. I really wanted to tell her most families give me a gift on their last day.

      Love it!!!

I don't know why anyone would "expect" a party. That is just crazy. If she wanted a party she could have brought in a special treat or something.

Just had a child's last day Tuesday. Family brought cookies to share and a thank you card. It was lovely.

I had a family ask once for me to throw a graduation celebration in Februaury so little dcb felt like he was graduating to the next preschool (I termed his family because they didn't follow my policies). I was like ::::::::::
I made the dcb a goodbye card all the littles put their hand prints on it - loved that little dude. But no party and no fake graduations

I almost always get cards from the "good" families, never expect it though; I even get an occasional present... this was my last one https://www.facebook.com/tirnanogpla...type=3&theater

The only parties I throw are first birthday's because kids age out before age 2
