A couple last minute questions and wish me luck!

So today is the day I have spent a month preparing for. It is the village family fun night and my first ever booth. I am doing a duck pond with prizes and toss across game.

Now my question should I take a copy of my handbook and a FAQ sheet for people to look at?

I would have business cards and flyers/brochures out only. No big handbooks, something small they could take/pocket. Good luck! Sounds like fun!!!

I am taking my business cards. I haven't had the money for brochures yet. Other than my FAQ page is two pages with large print.

How about a copy of your website placed on the table?
And a big sign with your daycare name?
        Good luck!
It does sound like a lot of fun!

Well this is the third year of the event, and it wasn't as busy as the years past I was told. Mostly because of the weather. It was supposed to be done raining by noon. It wasn't it is cool and windy but the rain was more of a mist mostly. It was wet, I have never seen so many people in hoodies and jackets in late June! This was my first year doing it.

At first many people were walking right past my booth. I didn't know that the games down the street required tickets. Then I figured it out and started telling people with small children I had free games. Next year one of my signs will say my games are free. I had the duck pond and toss across. Duck pond was the favorite and won prizes! I got my ducks in the party favor section at WM. Don't get those for this game! They flip upside down in the water. But it worked out just the same.

I gave away maybe 30 business cards. I didn't do as well as I had hoped, but hubby said I did better than he thought I would. One group turned away and looked at my card and said "wow she's in town". I noticed they had a SA with them and told them the school bus stops in my yard. One grandpa I told would have to call me, he watches the grandkids, but wants someone here and there. I explained that was drop in and the cost depended on the situation each time. As we were packing up, a dad and girl came by and she played my games. She and her sister are SA and their babysitter just quit. They really only would need me until school starts. So hopefully, I will get some calls from this. Also most of my prizes had a business card printed on regular paper attached.

I still have a ton of prizes left as I didn't know how many I needed but they will keep or I can use them for Halloween or something. We left an hour and a half early due to the weather all of the booths were closing up early because the crowd fizzled. For the $10 cost of the spot, it was cheap advertising. My booth was very simple and I am sure I can do it better if I do it again, but for the little money I had to spend, I did the best I can. If I do these things often I may see about getting a banner to go across my tent for a bigger sign.

I saw your other post about talking to the pres. first. I'm glad it went pretty well. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get calls from this! And you never know who will tell somebody else who will tell another person. Word of mouth is great!
