    Thrift Store Score!!!

I got one of these First Word Puzzle Sets at the thrift store for .59 cents!!! I had to look it up to see how much they really are. They are three sets of word cards, in two piece puzzles the word on one half the picture on the other. Only one set of the cards had the plastic taken off of it. It is virtually new! I about died when I saw the amazon price.

My luck varies, some days I walk out with nothing. Other times something is overpriced (if in question I use my phone to check). But sometimes I get lucky.

Great!!! Nothing makes my day like finding a wonderful deal for the dcks! In a few minutes I'm heading out to a couple yard sales advertising kids' stuff. One of them says preschool child educational materials. I'm hopeful. But I doubt I'll find a deal like that. And my 1 local thrift shop gets picked over quickly; and Salvation Army never has anything good.

I don't have a Salvation army near me, but when I lived near one I seem to remember them having a lot of junk.

$24.00 later and I feel like I've hit Treasure Island. No .59 special, that's for sure. But a lot of really unique very awesome stuff!
Gorgeous wooden puzzles, dress-up, a huge book of themes, a set of Wedgits(been looking to add onto my 2 sets), some games for the older kids, ladybug counting game,etc.. I'm in educational materials heaven.

Oh and you know the Lakeshore sets of Phonic containers where each container has a different letter represented by objects inside? I've wanted one for awhile but they go for like 149 bucks. She was asking 25, I was really torn, she'd said she'd sell it for 20, I still hesitated. She took my name in case it doesn't sell. Part of me said snatch that ****er up, other part of me said you can make your own. I hate it when *that* part of me starts yacking....

I have had the same thing about some things. Maybe she will end up calling you. Gotta love good deals for the kiddos.

I think I'd snatch the Lakeshore one up in a hearbeat for $20.00! I have good luck with general toys at Good Will. I just got a beautiful wood Japanese doll house. It's smaller and there wasn't any furniture. I keep going back to see if the furniture ends up in a bag by itself. I'm sure the furniture is beautiful as the house is!

I've got a pink cozy coupe there last winter in pristine condition for $7.99. Generally GW is more expensive than rummage sales, but that cozy coupe was a steal! It would have been more at a RS!

Oh, and i just got a wooden kitchen, I think possibly form IKEA at Good Will for $6.99. I don't know why it was so cheap. It's a little different design but I still love it!

I tend to think GoodWill is expensive. Lots of the single toys are $2.99 for one item. For some reason my GoodWill has been pricing larger items like the cozy coupe and kitchen on the cheaper side. Maybe they just want to get rid of bigger items,

I think...$2.99 for a small plastic toy but $6.99 for a wooden kitchen??? Weird pricing, but great for me when it comes to the large items.

I don't notice that at my Goodwill, but at my larger thrift store. It is crazy sometimes and you wonder who is doing the pricing. At mine, I looked at a littler box. I was thinking to use it for something else. It still had the dollar store price of a buck on it. The thrift store had it priced at $1.99.:confused: Sometimes I wonder other times I am happy with stuff .
