    Is This Rate Change Fair?

When my husband and I moved back into a larger town, one of my best friends asked if I would be willing to watch her daughter full time, as her current provider was closing. I said yes, as I planned to daycare anyway, and we came to an agreement of $125 a week. Dcg is very sweet and with me for 9.5 a day, but the rate I set is quite a bit lower than the norm for the area. I gave her a deal since we are friends and it is just one kid (I know, I know!), but we are at the one year mark in August and I thought I may raise the rate to $130 a week. The average rate is $150, so she is still getting a great deal, but is changing my rate after one year fair or okay to do?

Absolutely!! I also think you are still giving her a "deal" too because the $20 she is saving by not going elsewhere is worth it because she gets someone that truly does have her and her child's best interests at heart since you two are friends. You can't buy that kind of love. No matter what the rate is.

Yep still a great deal. Saving $20 a week comes out to a savings of more than $1,000 a year.

I think is very very fair too. Are you only watching that one little girl or have other children as well?
