Depending on how old the kids are (I assume four and younger ) , I think you should have them go home if they show any sign of crankiness and you have tried everything you can think of.

Suggest Monster Spray...

AKA Lysol with a new label on it. Before bed, spray under and around bed area, and it will repel any monsters that might want to sneak in.
