Psyched For The Kids To Come!

    That could be a first.
Between spending so much time lately on Pinterest and getting inspired, plus hitting a good yard sale yesterday, I'm ready for 'em!! I also scoured the house and looked at things with a loose parts mentality and found some treasures. I've been thinking about one of my little girls, how she's been having some aggressive issues lately and I'm thinking I need to up the sensory exposure. And instead of merely sending her to time-out which I feel does nothing to help most kids, I'm creating a calm down basket.

I just hope I still feel as inspired this time tomorrow.

Oh I hope and pray for you that you are as well! That all sounds SO amazing! I tend to get all my awesome/inspiring ideas while I'm laying in bed at night falling asleep. And then by morning, I've forgotten them and the "get up and go" about the ones I remember has gotten up and left .

You'll have to let us know how it works! I need a calm down basket!!

That's awesome. Love it when you go into the week with that enthusiasm. I bet they'll love the new materials and mindset.

Me too! I put together a big and little outdoor construction area this weekend and I ordered the toys for the outside dinosaur and fairy garden areas this morning. The kids are going to be so siked!!!

I've been addicted to making calm down bottles and sensory jars lately...

Have you tried making one? I bet it would help calm her during those times where her emotions are running wild.

So funny you posted this today. After I read this thread yesterday, I finally made one, after eyeing them on Pinterest several times and having a bottle and glitter glue sitting on my desk for weeks, waiting. (Why does it take so long to get to a five-minute project sometimes?)

I've been eyeing them on Pinterest for months. Every time I'm somewhere to get the bottles for them, I don't think about it .

sigh.....well I wish I could say all plans went according to um plan. But of course they didn't. One almost 2 yo dcg screamed all morning unless I held her and the dcg with issues I spoke about bit 2 different dcks today.
The dcg is 3 1/2 and had never bit anyone until last week, once last week and twice today. So not what I expected.
I'd also like to say naptime was extra long because they were all overtired but the screamer only slept an hour and bitergirl didn't sleep at all.

We can always try again tomorrow.

They can really throw a kink in our good plans sometimes, huh? Hope tomorrow is better!

I guess! They look like fun

I have sandboxes galore but never thought to add rocks... I should.

I used aquarium gravel for the small one and pebbles from Home Depot for the big one.
