DCM Issue

So, at our daycare we have a mom with 3 kids...ages 5, 6, and 7. The 5 year old just completed his last preschool year in my preschool classroom, the 6 year old just completed kindergarten but was in my preschool classroom as well. During the summer we have all 3 kids. Mom is now pregnant and is due in August or September. We asked her if she wanted us to put her on the list for the baby, and she said that with the kids all in school, she could afford to just stay home with the baby.

Now, the 7 year old told me yesterday that her mom is taking the new baby to a different daycare because she doesn't trust us.

Honestly, I don't know what to do about this. Part of me feels like telling this DCM to pull her 3 kids right now since she doesn't trust us for whatever reason....what would you all do???

I would talk to her and ask her if that was true and if she says it is or stammers around it then I would term.

Up front, "Dcm Johnny said the silliest thing yesterday..." her reaction will let you know the truth.

If a parent wouldn't trust you with one child, why would they trust you with three?

I bet she just doesn't like the environment for an infant. I would put my infant somewhere different than my older kids if I didn't like he infant program.

I wouldn't whole-heartedly trust what comes out of a 7 yr old's mouth. I'm not even sure I would confront the dcm either. It could be something, it could be nothing. I would see how the summer goes and see if there's any more talk of a new daycare. If so, then I would ask the dcm

I wouldn't do anything. The 7 yr old may or may not be right about it, but either way, baby isn't coming--really nothing to do about it, you know? If you've never had issues with dcm regarding the older kids, I would just ride it out.
