    Incorporating Your Business?

Has anyone here done that, does it make good business sense, especially as far as protecting your home and business? If you have or if you've looked into it, please tell me about it? Expensive? Hard process to go through?

    Thanks!

Tom Copeland wrote a great blog article about this. He has several actually. Maybe they will have the info you are looking for.

to incorporate costs some $, not just the process, but other stuff. you should have both good income and assets to protect. to incorporate, you should also have accountant to do your taxes, business bank acct, insurance, etc... if your state allows you could apply for S corp designation with state and fed to consolidate all your income into one pool. very beneficial if all the circumstances are correct, but only your account can tell you. the fees for the actual incorporation process are only a few hundred $, but as said before it opens up other opportunities or pitfalls. collect your finances and go to your accountant and have a discussion on it. if you dont have an accountant and dont really need one, then you probably dont need to incorporate.
