    Thanks so much for the tips everyone! I'm thinking of just taking the tv out of the room. Then they won't even have the option! Thanks for all of the tips! I really appreciate it!

      We're also TV and battery free here.

      I wouldn't make a big announcement (why invite arguments?) but when asked to watch TV I'd just say "No, the TV isn't going on right now" then leave it at that. If/when asked "Why" I'd say "Because it isn't" or "Because it's not TV time."

      Taking it out right away is a good idea, and if they ask why it's gone, simply say "Because it is" or "Why do you think it's gone?"

        Taking it out of the room would make it so easy. I can't do that, as our living room is part of my daycare area. The playroom and dining room have no TVs though. We had one in the dining room long ago, but I found it kept us from talking during breakfast and dinner, because DH and I were watching the news.
