Almost 1 PM and no show/no call

DCG is not here yet and it's almost 1. I was waiting to see if Mom was just going to show up or text or what but I finally just sent a text asking if they were coming today or not. She says "Oh my gosh I totally forgot to tell you that dcg is staying at home with her dad today" Grrrrrr.......... So disrespectful! Mom has a varied schedule so it isn't uncommon for her to show up earlier some days and later others.

I would ask for a written schedule each week.

My parents have to submit their schedules to me each Friday for the following week so I know who will be here and when.

My kids have to be here by 8:00 AM....or be considered absent. A note is posted on the front door along with "the door is locked at 8:00". I am not heartless and mean, just one of those daycare ladies that has been in business way too long and learned from experience how to make my daycare life better.::

I require parents to let me know within 30 minutes of their drop off time if they will be coming as scheduled or not.

If they do not call and simply "no show" they are given a mark on their file.

3 "No shows" and I term.

I can't work with families that have no respect for my time.

If I am the "last person" on their mind when their child has a schedule change, then its simply not going to work out.

Sorry that happened to you NorthernMNgal.

Hopefully you charge by enrollment and not on actual days used so you aren't out an income for the absence.

I am going to start getting a schedule starting next week! I truly don't think she knows what she's doing half the time!

I do charge whether they are here or not so at least there's that!

The sad thing about this Mom is that I am already helping her out by keeping her child an hour past closing time a couple days a week! (I do charge extra for this)

This happened a few times to me when all but one called to say they were not coming. I used to wait until 10am to see if that one dck would show up, if not I would post a sign saying closed for the day because no call/no show. Once a grandparent came at 12noon to drop off, however I had already closed and posted a sign on my door. So this year I added in my handbook no call/no show by 9 child will be marked absent and no drop offs after 10am. I get paid even if they don't show up. Now I don't have this problem 😀

I charge regardless of if they are here or not also, but really they shouldn't leave us hanging.
